Ito’s house by Studio De Luxe
Studio dLux designed Itu’s home in Brazil – a 2,700-square-foot residence with a modern exterior that has an interesting shape. This home is built for the good times. Designed to be enjoyed at any time of the day.
Have you ever imagined a home built for the good times of life? Breakfast on a cool, sunny day, lunch on a summer day, and good drinks at night looking at the stars.
The design of the Ito House began when a small hole was found in the town bearing the name of the house. In a space with only a few homes nearby, the opening benefited from a large slope that allowed for a full view of the skyline. After some time, the hatch started to turn into a project and the project started to turn into a build. The house is designed to be a summer house that can bring people together to enjoy these good times. It was based on quick construction and at the same time economical in terms of materials. In addition, one of the main points of the house was the permeability of the amazing view and the best way to ventilate it, since Itu is usually hot and dry.
It all starts on the grounds of the house, which invites you to enter through an outdoor hall with a large ipê tree when you arrive. Inside the ground floor there is a large open space that includes the living room, dining room and kitchen, forming a sequence designed for daily life.
The humidity of the floor is aided by two important factors: on the back, a large set of glass doors allow you to always enjoy the view of the horizon; Also when opened it completes the cross ventilation which runs through the whole house, thanks to the wall of the facade’s recessed elements.
The ground environment is surrounded by a large terrace, one side of which gives access to the slope of the land through the garden and down to the basement. It consists of a barbecue area that serves the outdoor area of the garden and swimming pool. In addition, a large underground gap has been used as the technical area of the house: water tanks that capture rainwater and traditional tanks are organized in this environment.
Upstairs, the bedrooms and bathrooms are divided into fittings that also have views. All home environments value simplicity in materials and furnishings to facilitate home living that is not always with guests.
The house was designed with a different dynamism than the traditional one, first thinking about the many moments you can live and later how best to translate them into architecture and interiors for your guests.
